I am currently dual booting XP and FC1. I want to move to FC2 but no cd writer. I have downloaded the iso's 1-4 and rescuecd.iso. Is there any way to install without buying a cd writer? I have the FC1 boot floppy but assume this can't be used to begin the FC2 installation process...

I do have a spare IDE HDD but is there a way to fool bios that this is CD-ROM? What about writing rescuecd.iso onto HDD? Is this possible and if so can it work to boot into?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I can borrow a CDR but an easier way than the hassle of this is what I really want.

Tnx

I believe you can setup a install from a local harddisk. You'd need to unpack the .iso's straight to your harddisk.

But you'll still need the Core 2 bootdisk.img... can your friend burn that for you? It's on install disk 1

You can boot the installation with Grub ( http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-May/msg03916.html )
