Greetings:
I've been hacked and my machine's been crippled recenlty , so I'm trying to use a LiveCD to burn a few other LiveCDs and Install DVDs of several operating systems. Call it an insurance policy; but as you may deduce, I'm using one now to access the Web - time to renew and update that policy.
I want to take this opportunity to review other OSs as well. The problems are, that I can't seem to mount the CD/DVD drive not occupied with the LiveCD; and the USB drive is "picky" as to not recognizing all of my Thumb Drive units when I plug them in.
Can someone give me a "step-by-step" and/or links on this; and perhaps how I can check MD5s and SHASUMS as I download and burn on Windows? I haven't been able to a bootable Linux CD/DVD from my trips to a local Internet Cafe yet...
