To-day there is an update for rawhide, and after re-boot, my console don't work.
-with konsole of kde, thereis no error message, but don't work,
-with console of gnome I have this error message (in french, sorry...):
Il y a eu une erreur lors de la création du processus fils pour ce terminaland don't work...
I use krusader, and when I want to launch krusader in root mode, I have this error message:
Impossible de trouver le programme « su ».<br/>Assurez-vous que votre variable PATH est bien définie.
I think it is the same problem...
When I log in root (it is not a good idea, but it is for test) my console work...

Same problem here after an update + mozilla firefox do not launches.
i've also had this problem some months ago on 11 Rawhide, and i didn't find any solution how to solve problem, and partition format only helped me.
also mozilla firefox do not start, and i cant send you output from console. :(

What do you mean by "partition format only helped me"?
Re-install my rawhide? And with the update if it has the same problem ?

It is not solved yet.
glibc-2.10.90-2 confilcted with what prelink(fc11) did.
A fix for prelink(f12) was in the csv but libselinux was broke.
Later a prelink work around was compiled but did not help.
A while ago libselinux was compiled.
Installing that with old prelink (did not work,)
updating newer prelink (did not work.)
upatedb
prelink -q -R -f
touch /.autorelabel
reboot
(did not work)
gcc is compiling now?
no other signs of life showing. :)

The fix is simple but annoying. Why file permissions have been munged in this way, I don't know.
As root:
chmod 4711 /usr/libexec/pt_chown
That worked for me.

It worked for gnome-terminal..
Bug 509632 - why those guys have dev/pts not mounted with defaults is probably not part of the problem, is not from a standard install.

Hi...
My rawhide is broken...
Yesterday, she's freeze with two process, updatedb and prelink, mice and keyboard don't work, so I stop my laptop with on/off button, and now, my rawhide load but I don't have the login screen (gdm or kdm...)
Do you think I must re-install this rawhide?

Welcome to the wonderful world of rawhide :)
Unfortunately, in the early stages of a new release, rawhide frequently breaks. You might be better re-installing FC11 or waiting until rawhide goes beta.
As to your questions, updatedb isn't very important, nor is prelink essential. However they both are quite heavy on disk usage ... perhaps you have a hard-drive fault? Do you have smart enabled on the drives?
If you don't have gdm/kdm, login as root and type runlevel. Is the second number 5? If not, try typing "init 5".

I test my hard-drive and they have no default...
And I try booting in mode text (init 3) and that don't work.
I try in init 1 (root without password) for same results...
My rawhide is really broken...
I think I waiting for F12 beta.
Thank for your help.
