When I go to 'Computer' and try to access a DVD or CD, I get the following error message:

http://yfrog.com/agscreenshot1p

"Unable to mount location."

(Sorry about the large image; I can't figure out how to crop the image with the tools available by default for Fedora 11.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The error message:

org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Disks.Error.Failed: Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 32: mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

Did you try that with several different discs? Didn't you limit the user's permissions (perhaps removing him from the "CD" group)?

Joe.

Yes.

I do not understand. What do you mean by "user's permissions"? Is this something that can be changed through the settings of Fedora?

Yes.

When one creates a user (System -> Administration -> Users and groups) it is possible to restrict his permissions. If the user that is currently experiencing problems is the one created upon install then this is not the case.

Is the drive old?

Joe.
