Es1869 fc10

Hi i just put FC10 on an older system for a friend of mine and it has an es1869 soundcard which isn't detected. I have searched around and found people editing modprobe.conf to fix the issue in early versions of fedora, however I have attempted to edit the file modprobe.conf.dist to see if that would do the same thing, unsuccessful. In sound preferences all the playback options are set to autodetect, and i have tried to two options given(alsa and pulseaudio) and also unsuccessful. Volume is up in all areas i can find. Any suggestions for what to do next would be great
