I moved my PC with Fedora 11 to another printer, hp5400 and now I keep having trouble setting it up. I ran hp-setup and I gives me errors.

Do I have to delete all printers and start over? When I go back to Printing, I see that all printers are gone but the add printer button is greyed out so I can't add a printer. What am I missing?

Try to manage your printer from a browser with CUPS.
Open a browser and type:
127.0.0.1:631
and see from there what is happening

it says Unable to connect.

It did recognize the hp5400 when I first plugged it into the new printer, but I don't know why its having so much trouble this time. Now when I go to printer it's empty with no way to add a new one. In the past hplip would set it up quckly.

... I unplugged and replugged the priinter cable and the printer printed a test sheet and I was able to printer another page.

It's working now. :)
