I'm a Linux newbie.

I configured a Dell Latitude X300 dual-boot Fedora and XP. On XP, everything's cool.

But when I boot into Linux, I can't get an external monitor to show anything at all -- it gets no signal. I've tried docked and undocked, I've tried various external monitors (LCD and CRT), and I've tried a wide range of xorg.conf settings. I never even get a flicker from the external monitor.

Any suggestions? Many thanks,

Sam

I'm using
Driver "i810"
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "Intel 852"

which is all I can seem to find anywhere that gives me any display.

So -- again with the Linux newbie -- how do I configure the video card? Is that just editing xorg.conf?
