Java Email Program

Hi all

I am looking into making an email program written in Java and seeing if anyone wants to help? contribute?

My specific area is the GUI programming side which is probably where most of my knowledge lies.

So would be looking for people to help with the backend coding? telnetting, ports etc

Anyone interested? Only for something to do really at the moment? No money making / sending involved

I know a little about Java, but not that much.

Realize that there are several Java mail projects already out there (http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Clients/Mail/Java/?il=1). Some are open source so you can look at their implementation.
