Booting from USB in a eeepc 701.
Can't disable automatic login. Tried to comment out the lines in /etc/gdm/custom.conf:
#TimedLoginEnable=false
#TimedLogin=liveuser
#TimedLoginDelay=60
#AutomaticLoginEnable=false
What else should I do?

maybe instead of commenting those variables remove the hashes (#'s):TimedLoginEnable=false
#TimedLogin=liveuser
TimedLoginDelay=3600
AutomaticLoginEnable=false

Tried that. What worked for me was just to click Cancel at the auto-login prompt and when I logged out all the users were there waiting to be chosen. :confused:

can you change this to someone who doesnt exist:
TimedLogin=homer_simpson
maybe the login will just fail.

also what happens when you give liveuser a password (passwd).
else modify the name of liveruser to something else.
then the autologin will fail and anyone will have to login manually with a username and password.
