I want to paint a few icons in bluecurve style. Does anyone here have experience with that? Is there a style-guide or something? And, how should i do it, first with vector and then convert to bitmap or is it easier to paint it directly as bitmap?

you may find something here that will help you: www.kde-look.org or www.gnome-look.org you will probably find a forum to ask questions on what other people use.

This would be a good question to ask the fedora-desktop mailing list.
And I have a request for a icon, I would like to see a bluecurve icon for the gnome-netstatus applet. I've hacked together some myself, but as I'm not artist they don't look that good.
I've put the original icons as well as my hacked network icons: http://foolish.fedorausers.org/gnome-netstatus_icons/
