View Full Version : How do I boot into Gnome in FC9?

I just installed Fedora Core 9 on a older PC (Compaq Presario that dual boots Windows xp). It had a much older Fedora on it and I overwrote it. I did a basic install using 3 of the 6 discs and watched it say it installed Gnome. I remember from a few years back that Fedora just boots to the prompt after installation unless you *tell* it to boot to a gui environment. But I can't remember how to do that, and apparently I'm too dumb to find it by searching the forums. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit /etc/inittab, and change the 3 in the last line to 5. Reboot and Bjorn Stronginthearm is your uncle.

I'll give that a try. I knew it would be easy.
