I have just installed Fedora Core 2, using Gnome, KDE, etc. I have a Sony Clie that I use through gpilot to sync to my Evolution. Well, gpilot works... but only once. If I want to do a second time, I have to reboot to get it to go through, otherwise, it just times out. It's accessed through /dev/pilot which symlinks to /dev/usb/ttyUSB1, and all the permissions are set accordingly, set to USB, etc. The second time around, I have tried restarting gpilot, but still no go... I have to reboot. It seems like gpilot is not noticing it the second time around, as for dmesg, its seeing it, both for the time it worked, and for the time it didn't work...
usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using address 6
usb 2-2: palm_os_4_probe - error -32 getting connection info
usbserial 2-2:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected
usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs)
usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 6
visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1
usbserial 2-2:1.0: device disconnected
Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.
That error 32 shows up all the time (and looking on other sites, seems to show up for everyone).
Now, the most interesting part is the Device not ready. That is not the USB... that is my floppy drive... yes, when it syncs, both successfully and unsuccessfully, and it disconnects, my floppy drive is accessed. I don't know what is trying to access it or why... I've noticed this on a few other USB devices also (i.e. a 4in1 card reader.. which has died now, but another reader did the same). Is there anyone that can help me, or give me a direction to go to further test this?
