ati radeon 4850...

ok ive read a million ways to do this and still can't
ive followed leighs guide and a few others and i still get the black screen when i should see the login screen.
I can get into the runlevel 3 and i know if i do fglrxinfo i get unable to open display null
had anyone got the 4850 to run with 3d support i want to use my card so i can try to game on fedora. I'm goin to do another fresh install and then do the updates after this post and just leave it alone that way i can come back and see if anyone has got this to work.. please help :)

wow so i take it no one is using this card...anyone have any recomendations on a distro i can try that supports it?

Have you had a look at the thread (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=155503) it deals with most of the ati GPUs but you may have problems with newer distro's that use the latest kernel and Xorg versions as ati's closed source driver has not caught up the the rapid development in the Linux mainstream.

ya i tried that one and still get a blackscreen after it starts loading and where i should see the login sceen i get nothing
