fedora 10 ppc install on imac g4

Installation went fine, but when i go to reboot gets to loading keyboard map and screen either goes all fuzzy and totally wrong colours with that loading keyboard map text, or it just has the loading keyboard map text and a green line at the bottom. doesnt move on from that point at all, just had to reinstall mac 10.1 to find a fix!

any idea what the problem is

i have fedora 10 ppc dvd, imac g4 800mhz with 768mb ram.
