I tried to install Intel wireless 2200BG driver, but it always says:
ipw2100 device eth1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

It's seemed that the same problems with the former post about ipw2100. I did as he said but it didn't work.

My system is Fedora Core 2 kernel 2.6.8-1.521.
After in stall the driver I use dmesg | grep ipw2200, it complained that the firmware is not loaded.
I install the following softwares(By sequence):

atrpms-56-1.rhfc2.at.i386.rpm
kernel-module-hostap-2.6.8-1.521-0.1.3-4.rhfc2.at.i686.rpm
hostapd-0.1.3-4.rhfc2.at.i386.rpm
ipw2200-firmware-2.0-2.at.noarch.rpm
kernel-module-ipw2200-2.6.8-1.521-0.7-6.rhfc2.at.i686.rpm
ipw2200-0.7-6.rhfc2.at.i386.rpm

Is there someting wrong or I 've ignored? :(

BTW: I can not shut down X-win when I use init 3, why? It said md do not support that event

There is an issue with the card during booting under fc2

I found with the ATrpms I needed to remove the ipw2200 module and then re-insert again after booting before it would work.

run rmmod ipw2200 and modprobe ipw2200 and then iwconfig to see if the card is there.

You could also try bill moss's idea.
I have a link to his site on my page

it works for me
