You need the latest JDK, if you dont download fromhttp://www.sun.com download "Linux RPM" to your directory somewhere, and instal:
**I was in root the whole time and located to the files**
sh jre-6u13-linux-i586-rpm.binthis will opn up their license agreement, pages and pages of txt. at the end type yes,
it'll literaly say done, when its completed.

now, if you didnt download Limewire already then download from www.limewire.com (http://www.limewire.com)and put it in your directory somewhere

using root, in terminal, go to the limewire folder and enter :
sh ./runLime.sh thats it.

Sound works, video works for me. If you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to leave one.

Hello waramoore. I've taken the liberty of moving this how-to into the Guides and How-To Articles forum.

FWIW; www.frostwire.com provides a fedora rpm of Limewire's cousin Frostwire. Download it, become root (su), change to the downloaded directory, and yum --nogpgcheck localinstall frostwire..blah..blah.rpm. When install is finished, and while still root, type frostwire to start. After the initial run, exit the program, and exit the root terminal. You can then run it from the menu. The reason for running it from the root terminal, is to allow it to make the directories it needs.
Regards,
Bob

That sounds better, because using Lime wire it doesn't put an icon in your menu.

I recommend using openjdk. It's easier for new users since they just have to execute one line of code:
yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk

Not much. They changed the UI a bit but as far as I can tell, nothing too major feature-wise between the 4.1x releases and 5.

Or even better...gtk-gnutella.

It's avaliable from yum and uses GTK so no need for Java at all.

In that case ill leave 4.18 in Autoten (http://dnmouse.org/autoten.html) as it works fine anyway.
On another note Firewing1 how is the project going.

Not too bad, thanks for asking... It's coming along slowly, but still coming along. I'm hoping to have a bit more time to work on it this summer once school's over for a bit...

the UI is all thats new about Limewire 5, Its just the most up-to-date Limewire i could get my freeware fingers on. But it doesnt have a Desktop icon or menu item, where as frostwire does.

Dangermouse - Do you have a solution to F11 and Flash player? I Used your program but it shows as a plugin, but runs no script... Maybe I should just stuck to Linux Mint 6, Kinda liked the UI better. Just liked going from OS to OS... PLaning on having a compter for each OS i can make cd's for.
