Hi
I am trying to install Fedora on my computer and it boots fine but then comes up with an error it says
"Warning : cannot find root file system"
Create symlink /dev/root and then exit shell to continue the boot sequence
bash:no job control in this shell
bash-3.2#
I am a completly new to all this so have no idea what to do to get it working so any help is appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
perhaps some more information would help in this.
*) which version of fedora are you trying to install
*) what are your hardware specs
*) is it the live-cd or the install dvd
*) is this when booting the cd or after the installation when booting for the first time
*) is it a dual boot pc (ie with windows)
those kind of things may be the info people here need to point you in the right direction.

Take a look at Fedora release notes and common problems.
Hrrm, can't find it there--look at the sticky in general support for common problems and how to fix them--towards the end, there's a post of mine about not finding root, especially with scsi and raid and sometimes, just ordinary sata--it goes through troubleshooting it and you can try that.
