I wanted to test Fedora on my vista laptop to see what it was like and weather or not i would like it. Well so i downloaded the live file and burnt the image file to a dvd. But i haven't been able to find a clear explanation of how the bootable disk works aside from following the on screen instructions. So does it do anything to the hard drive or is run standalone from the disk and all i would have to do is shutdown form Fedora and take the dvd out to resume back to windows os? thanks for all the help.

amusing you got a "Live" disk and not the install disk, that should be it.

I think the Live disk loads the system into memory but it might use some of the hd, dunno?

If you have any issues please post back in the forum for tips.

Best of Luck,
