Hi:

I have an IBM Thinkpad T40, and was wondering whether anyone knew where to locate the Linux drivers for the Intel pro/wireless wireless network interface. Also, are there linux utilities available to locate nearby wireless networks (i.e. like IBm Access Connections)?

Thanks,
- Abhra

Yes to both. You can get RPMs via ATRPMs. Here's the apt-get config line I use:

rpm http://apt.physik.fu-berlin.de/ fedora/2/en/i386 at-testing

You can also go to the main site (the first part of the URL) and manually download them. Make sure you have the right version for your kernel/OS.

Did you get the Wireless for the T40 up and running? I'm all new to Fedora and Linux. Got an IBM Thinkpad T41 and would like to get the Wireless up and runing on this machine. Any suggestions for getting it up and running?

Try this page: http://tuxmobil.org/ibm.html. There are several T41 FC installations listed. The wireless installation is listed here (incl. Wireless): http://www.folley.net/errata/t41/fc3_install.html.

Hope that helps....

This how-to (http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43718) is for the atheros drivers but you can use as carbon copy for your intel pro. Details at the end of how-to.
