This is what i get when i try and load my Core2 install CD. I have no clue what this means. I do have a working core2 test2 on my hard drive though( i installed it when the HD was in a different machine). i'm stuck... I will try a suggestion as to put the boot files on the HD and boot that way

Your FC2 CD may be bad, or your CD-ROM drive is dying. Do a verify on you CD.

i have tried 3 different Cd-roms, none of the worked. I have tried booting from the harddisk... no dice, that way also gives me a crc-error.
:update:
So i tried one last time. and it worked!!! but now it's stuck on finding a hostname and domain... that is never going to happen. Have any ideas on how to break past it?

ctrl-alt-delete to force it to init 6, then at the GRUB prompt, hit e to edit the config, scroll to the line specifying the kernel and add a space followed by the letter S to the end (this means boot single-user). Hit enter and b to start the boot sequence. You should get a root shell prompt from which you can fix startup problems.
