Not a big deal since any alpha machine should be considered a toy at this point but I'm just curious to see if anyone else has seen these errors.

You can stop the error by renaming the listed files.

i.e

/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

becomes

/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Good morning Leigh. (still AM in England I believe?) Thanks for the reply. That's pretty much what I figured. Seemed fairly obvious although I wasn't entirely sure if it was the right thing to do. I'll give it a go.

Leigh, you are right on the money, as usual. All errors gone now that I made those changes. Thanks a bunch. :)

It's still AM here ( 10:21 GMT ), renaming the files fixed it for me.

Time to reboot :)

They're only deprecation warnings, anyway. Nothing's actually broken.

I tend not to work around problems like this, so that I can keep an eye on them and if there's still a file or two which hasn't been changed a few months down the road, I can poke the maintainer to take care of it.

If I may make a suggestion, you're FAR more likely to get valuable answers by deleting this post, which is in a completely unrelated thread, and reposting it with a descriptive subject line. As it is, people might glance at the subject, recognize that it's an old thread, and not even bother going to the end to see your question.

By descriptive subject line, I mean something like No acpi found Live KDE CD.

Putting your post here, at the end of a relatively dated, completely unrelated thread is not a good way to get the attention of someone who might know the answer.

I say "delete this post" because double posting is a no-no.
I would also suggest you mention which Live CD.
