Hi,

Has anyone gotten a decent 3d acceleration out of the f11/alpha xorg intel driver?
I have intel 945GM (Mac mini) and things are not working out. I am getting 40fps in glxgears
+ even basic 2d graphics is extremely slow. If I use the basic vesa driver then at least
2d works OK (and there 3d even gives over 100 fps!). Also switching to XAA acceleration crashes the machine every time I attempt to start X.

You best choice for now is the vesa drv.

Well, try 'nomodeset' first (kernel parameter). vesa isn't going to get you any 3D performance :)

Well, I have nomodeset already. Currently the vesa driver beats the intel driver 10-0.
Even when it comes to 3d acceleration. There is something seriously wrong with the intel driver.

Ah. Well, in that case, file bugs, if you didn't already. Hopefully the maintainers will have a chance to do something about it before F11 goes final (they're very busy ATM :\)
