I downloaded the live cd iso F10-ie686 and burnt the image to a cd. When I tried to boot from the live cd I got the following message.
"Cannot find Root File System"
" Create Symlink /dev/root"
This was followd by a string of warnings and errors until the computer eventally froze.

I am running Windows XP on one hard disk and Ubuntu on the other. Selection of the operating system is via Grub boot loader. I have several other live cd's with Linux systems with no problems. I used the verify and boot option on the first screen. Any Ideas?

Maybe take out the Ubuntu HDD and it'll work?
I have no issues on our old Gateway 7405GX's CD drive but it doesn't read USB drives...
What is you root filesystem anyway?
I know E-Live uses reiserfs and that might be what Fedora uses. Still, all of y computers (all 4) easily boot from a USB flash drive and you can install the OS via the Live Desktop on the Live Flash Drive. Just get either UnetBootin (google it) or use the official Fedora Live USB creator (https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/) and boot from the flash drive or other external Hard Drive. Am I making any sense?
