also, im using a laptop with a very strong processor core2duo 2.2+, a 8600m gt nvidia card, and lots of ram. ;)

ok, as the title say im a big gentoo user, and honestly the only binary distro that i've used a lot was ubuntu(or rather BugUntu :))... now here are my comments based on these experiences, and in hope that it helps improve fedora core:
fedora core 10 was rather VERY stable, by far the only kde4 that i have seen, that was launched in late 08, that was really usable. the one thing that fedora does all the time however is leave me :confused:.
as in: where is this? how do i edit that? whats...what!!!?
the system seems pretty organized and there are friendly editors for everything, i was however hugely disappointed with the current state of the updater for kde4(you guys should check synaptics for a 'humble' example of how its done), however organized the updater was, it never gave me any choice over locations of sources(mirrors) and also never told me the size of the updates i'd be downloading, and on top of that finding new files was not fun at all...
i tried turning my multimedia keys into action, and they all worked once set, however when using them they never showed up on screen(volume up/vol down for instance, kubu has this)... im still not certain how to get this done.
another thing that got me bugged is... which nvidia driver am i using? there is no driver manager of any kind, its very :confused: actually, and i tried searching for nvidia-settings on the package manager, to no avail...
i really got no idea on how to get this running atm.
see the main problem with fedora right now is that its the first linux distro were i feel :confused: about anything, and its happening quite often.
beyond that it seems really usable, but the feeling that things are being hidden all the time is not all too great. also... where is KATE? how can a kde iso not have kate...
so, in a nutshell:
updater, multimedia keys, video drivers/options.
these are the things that bugged me the most.
overall id give fedora core 8, simply out of how darn stable the thing is, even if i ~try to brake it.
great job guys, but it could use some polishing.
