help with my lap

hey, ive just installed FEDORA CORE 2 on a Laptop Compaq series 1700 and it didnt recognize the ethernet card n i dont know where to find the controller, so can u tell me where to find it.

the ehternet card model is: compaq 10_100 MiniPCI Ethernet NIC

Are you saying that your card wasn't found by the bootup process ( /var/log/dmesg) or that it appears there and
/sbin/ifconfig
doesn't show any eth0?

i dont know what happened really, just that i treated to install the Ethernet card, but i couldnt find the controller, n i dont know what to do

The terminology you are using isn't clear. When you say you couldn't find the controller, it isn't clear how or what you used to look for it. Are you talking about seeing it with the hardware browser or something like that?

I think you'll have to provide some details before anyone can help you. Post your /var/log/dmesg file.
