Hello..!!
I use a Huawei162G USB Modem. The problem is that it doesn't support anything except Windows. I'm fed up of this and I wish to completely switch over to Linux. Can someone please help me out with it?
Regards.

It should work :)
Firstly start Fedora 10, with the modem disconnected.
Run dmesg and remember the last line.
Plug in the modem, wait a few seconds and run dmesg again, post the new bit of dmesg output here.
It may just work however, click the 'Network Manager' icon and see if a new connection has appeared?

trigpoint.....
I just can't explain you how grateful you are to me. Till now I've installed and then uninstalled Linux just for the sake of internet connection not getting built up. And you solved the problem in just one command.. Thanks a ZILLIONS.....
Thank you so much....

No problem.
I assume that the modem was detected by NetworkManager?
If so, there was really no need for the dmesg commands, they were just there to help diagostics and to allow me to help you manually configure the connection if NM didn't work. Sorry it was me putting too much in one post.

Yeah, it showed up when i clicked the Network Manager icon on the panel. But since I'm complete newbie to Linux, I couldn't figure out what to do. Thanks again..
