Fedora 10 (32-bit), iPod touch (1st gen) & VirtualBox (guest winxp)

K, so I'm running Fedora 10 32-bit on an HP laptop and I want to sync my 1st gen Ipod Touch. I'm trying to get it working with VirtualBox, but something's wrong. I added a new group in host called usb, added my username to that group, followed all the steps to get the guest OS to recognize that the ipod is attached - and it does (device is no longer greyed out) - but when I open iTunes, it says:

iTunes could not connect to the iPhone '''' because an unknown error occurred (0xE 8000035).

Any ideas?
