Sendmail won't send or recieve via the internet

if i try to send mail out of my server my email reader tells me that the user is denied and if i try to send mail to my server with my comcast account I get an email back saying that relaying was denied by my server.

I dont want my server to be an open relay but i want my users to have to log in when they are sending mail out of my server.

Sounds like you have the MTA set up but the MDA isn't

Look into Cyrus Imap (FC2) or UW Imap (FC1).

Did you look i your mail log files.

I had the same problem, all i did was change the gateway IP.
