hi all
something went byebye here, will try again.
began with totally new install. this time put everything on from fedora 9 newest version according to disk. everything seemed to go fine and I signed in with gmone...seemed to work OK. I had also chosen to install kde and logged off and back on with the kde choice. this seemed to work ok and seemed normal with my very limited knownledge and first sign in seemed ok. logged off and back in gnome for testing and logged off gnome and back to kde but system went screwy. fedora screen flashed but then went to totally black screen and a white rectangular square appeared with nothing in it. did a ctrl alt F1 and got lots of messages two I recall was display 0 and remove /tmp/.X0-lock. so what do I do from here?
have gone thru the logon several times and gnome works apparently but black screen on kde.
this in on a dual boot system with windows xp home
any help here appreciated
