libdrm stable version 2.4.4 is released yet it has not been packaged for F10 or rawhide yet.
the latest mesa and intel drivers depend on it. Mesa 7.3 is going to be out soon. Will it be updated for F10 or do we have to switch to rawhide to enjoi the new stuff.
The new release for intel is substantial as now the whole stack supports UXA which is the prefered acceleration method for intel devs.

what about ati fglrx module?
I predict that ATI will take forever to add support for the new libdrm version and F11 will probably not work with ATI till 2009-09-26 ( 4 months after it is released ) due to xorg 1.6 .

Well Leigh, that is bad news for me. This laptop has an ATI 9600 Mobile vid. aptr. It worked in F8 with fglrx. When I instaled F10, I thought that waiting patiently for Firewing to move the ATI stuff from Testing, would be the way to go. From what you say, I might as well try your How-To and take my chances that F10 will keep working?
Thinking more about this...If ATI prop. drivers working with F8, but no longer work with F10, I guess maybe ATI has gotten tired of trying to "hit a moving target". If this is true, it does not bode well for (Fedora) users with ATI hardware?
Bummer.

Bob
