Hi guys,
I have a Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 Expert TV&FM Tuner card and yesterday I installed Fedora Core 2. The card seems to be recognized correctly, but when I try to run tvtime, there is no signal and I cannot see anything. Has anybody similar problems ?

In Windows the card works just fine.

Thank you,
Ionut

I have the same problem with my tv card which is a bt878 card.

I installed a few things and then, when I tried again, it worked (just that now I see black&white and have no sound :) )
Here's what I did last days:
- installed MPlayer with its codecs
- installed Alsa Mixer
- switched from Gnome to KDE (this could be the winner !)
- I've run tvtime as root

Check for yourself and tell me your result !

i have a bt878 tv tuner (leadtek winfast 2000 xp delux) and am running mandrake 10.0 . the display adapter is a nvidia tnt2 pro (or ultra to some apps). when i try to run tv time it displays a windowfor a second or two and then exits - in the terminal it says no yuv2 ( or something similar). the xawtv however does work, but is extreamly small and even on a 19" i can bearly make out the text of subtiles etc, if i try full screen it doesnt help...

does any one know if there is a way to fix the tv time app or if there is a way to get the xawtv to play in a bigger window (preferably complete full screen?)

This is how I managed to get tvtime working well for me..

[EDIT]: My TV Card is the Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 / XP Deluxe Edition..

Right click on the tvtime window, go to Channel Management > Change Frequency Tables, choose your country, and turn OFF signal detection. Then under Input Configuration > Television Standard set the tv standard to your country, choose restart with new settings, then use the up and down arrow keys to do some channel surfing, you should then come across your normal tv channels..

Renumber and Fine Tune channels as necessary..

Hope this helps, took me a while to get tvtime working as well as it does now.. :)

Does the remote control work for WinFast TV 2000 Expert TV&FM Tuner card. Suggest me a good tv tuner card. i want the remote control to work too. its better if the vendor provides the driver along.

I had similar problems getting my leadtek winfast tv 2000 delux working in mandrake.

I got the picture happening but then no audio.

I got the audio working by going into the system volume control pannel and fiddeling around with some of the settings (I thought the line in port may have been muted). The solution to the problem was turning off the line in surround sound setting. This instantly allowed me to hear the tv tuner audio.

I hope this helps people because isn't that obvious

try to load bttv module:

in root console type: /sbin/modprobe bttv

then try to start tvtime

I have written a howto, but it's in lithuanian language, but I think you can find something usefull for you TV card instalation.
