Love 'em or loathe 'em, Apple have a flair for marketing (unlike MS) and the power behind 'em is Steve. Hope he recovers soon. Hope this thread does not turn into a flame war against Apple and its products!

Reading between the lines it does not look good. :(
Say what you will about Apple, I always thought Jobs had flair. Every time I hear his name I will forever picture Noah Wiley in Pirates of Silicon Valley at the board meeting in shorts and no shoes with his feet up on the table. I'm like, "hey, that's me!"

I think Tim Cook has a good working knowledge of Apple and could maintain the company. But with Jobs being the reason Apple is what it is, and being THE driving force behind the company, maintain is all Cook is going to be able to do. Good luck to Tim and I hope Steve gets better soon because although I'm not much of an Apple person (besides my iPod and iPhone) I get excited to see what Apple will do next.

Agreed, Sean. It doesn't look good. <..:(..>

Yeah heard about this a while ago, without steve IMO apple really does hit rock bottom, be glad to see him go back to apple.

I hope he recovers well from this, and as he said it might be a recoverable bug. A person creating a company twice in his career is something.

without Steve Apple i dont think can sell its products as good as Steve can

Yeah. If nature takes its course, we're gonna have to talk quiet and tiptoe around the turtleneck and Birkenstocks crowd for a while, but I think the company will survive. It'll sure change complextion, though.

Steve been a freakin maniac so long and I like him. Always saves the best statement last during his keynotes. "Wait, there's more..." Awsome products. They survived switching to Intel processors. Get well Steve!
Found the site, worth reading of the original Apple Corp gangs in the late 70's/80's.

It don't look good for poor Steve Jobs. I hope he does get better though, what ever you think of Apple, Steve Jobs has been great. Not only did he start Apple, then return to save it, but he also started Pixar. He's also (I think), the largest individual shareholder in Walt Disney, thanks to Pixar.

Apple has a good business going between iPod, iPhone, iMacs, Powerbooks and iTunes.
Steve Jobs pushs for innovation, knows how to put it together into a package and can sell it to the masses extremely well. Somebody like that is a rare find.
How many tech companies really have somebody as well-known (and liked  ) as Jobs?! When somebody says "Apple" he is the first person that comes to mind (like Bill for Microsoft, Shuttleworth for Ubuntu and Larry for Oracle)

I've been more impressed with Apple's ability to integrate their products into everyday life (i.e. iphone, ipod) and make it almost a necessity of life than with their OS and other stuff like that. Because of Jobs, this truly is the iGeneration.
