my Video Card Too Hot?

I have an ATI 9800XT 256MB running a game called Far Cry - very amazing ... the only thing is when I open the ati tool, it shows my video card is running 72 degrees - :confused:

That seems very hot - I understand that is only at full load and gets to about 67 idle but just wondering your thoughts?

67 to 72 is -5 or +5 change so it could be ok.....my gets hot too, you know!

that doesnt seem too hot at all, considering many peoples cpu's run at 130-140 degrees, i think 72 on a gfx card would be just fine.

BTW, i envy your card, you lucky little sucker

work gave it to me since they were testing it out for some stuff and I was able to grab it from them - however , it has no cooling fan so I had to buy that rev 3 cooling fan and was told it as the best.

I use the ATI card on my only Windows XP machine - for gaming.
Then my Linux machine runs nVidia 5900XT 128MB - also a nice card.

My HD max temp is 135 degress...so I don't think that is too much for a video card ...

For those of you outside the US, that's 72 degrees Fahrenheit, about room temperature. If it was Celsius then I would be worried.

I got into a heat problem after installing my second HD...it was necessary to add a fan to a empty fan slot in CPU and re-route some ribbon connectors (blocking air flow)...I would think that video cards would run hotter than a HD?
