I can't figure out how to get this to work on Fedora. Has anyone tried or does anyone know how? Any help would be much appreciated.

I just got a Fuji E510 usb...I plug it in and it is recognized as a HD...it works this way in both windows and FC2
I use PhotoPC for my older serial camera...it is a command line digital photo manager...

I use PhotoPC commandline software to download the pics to puterI used the following syntax(the speed seemed to cause problems unless I set it to 38400,maybe not with usb):
serial port:
photopc -l /dev/ttyS0 image all /home/sailor/photos -s 38400
for usb port:
photopc -l /dev/ttyUSB0 image all /home/sailor/photos ( maybe it should be /dev/sda1? this is a guess as I don't use a usb cam with photopc)

available at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/photopc/

I then made an alias "getphotos" that runs the command...

For my Olympus C700, I put this line in /etc/fstab:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/camera vfat noauto,owner,ro,0,0
That allowed root to mount the camera manually with the command
mount /mnt/camera
Then I followed the directions on the page:
http://home.gagme.com/greg/linux/usbcamera.php
(which I had fearlessly recommended to virusdoc in a previous thread).
The only departure was that commands like service had to be typed with the full path as /sbin/service and /sbin/chkconfig.
Now my camera automounts.
It shows up in the /misc/camera directory instead of the /mnt/camera directory.
Since there are several usb connectors on most systems, you may have to figure out which one is /dev/sda1 by trial and error.
