Hi, I have two questions regarding Fedora 10 on my Lenovo T400. It has simply been a pleasure installing and using for the vast, vast majority of points, but I've experienced the following two problems.
It has an ATI 3470 discrete as well as an intel GMA 4500 integrated graphics card which are switched between in BIOS.
First question.
When I start up with the discrete card it halts in startup with the message "undefined video mode number: 362 Press <Enter> to see video modes available, <Space> to confirm or wait 30 secs"
This happens when I have vga=866 after the kernel line in menu.lst which works fine when the integrated graphics card is active.
Second question.
Is there a way to use a virtual desktop resolution using HAL and fdi instead of xorg.conf as whenever a xorg.conf is present for one of the graphics cards X-server cannot start on the other.
I would like to be able to have an external screen running 1680x1050 in extended desktop with the laptop LVDS 1440x900 screen.
When the discrete card is active and no xorg.conf is present "xrandr" accepts a large resolution (3120x1050) so the external monitor can be used in an extended desktop.
But when the integrated graphics card is active the maximum resolution for "xrandr" is 1440x1440 when the external monitor is not connected and 1680x1680 when it is connected at startup
In windows GMA 4500MDH is capable of rendering the full 3120x1050 so it shouldn't be due to a limitation in the hardware.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance!
