I have a GeForce FX 5200, it uses the 173xx legacy driver so I installed the driver kmod-nvidia173xx. In other distros when I install the Nvidia driver and reboot I usually get a Nvidia splash screen before going into the display manager but that's not the case with Fedora 10. Also I checked the Livna Display Configuration tool and it shows that only AIGLX is supported and Xgl is greyed out. I don't know the differences between them so I don't know if that's good or bad.

So I wanted to know how do I check if everything's correctly configured?

Thanks

Which driver? 'nv' or 'nvidia'?

I used to get the splash screen while using the 'nv' driver/module. Now that I'm using the 'nvidia' driver/module, I haven't (i.e., can't recall having) seen the splash screen anymore.

Maybe check if the 'nv' or the 'nvidia' module is loaded?
