While installing Fedora Core 2 on MS Virtual PC 2004, VPC restarts when the installer tries to start the graphical install (when it starts the X server). Is there a way to get around this or setup MS VPC to play nice with the X Server?

I know that for VMWare vdso=0 during boot is advised. Maybe that is what MSVPC also needs.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does that command do?
BTW, I was able to install just fine in text mode, but I know nothing about how to start the x server from commandline.

I tried typing in "startx" after I logged in and it came up with this:

[root@(none) root]# startx

Fedora Core 2 running as a guest operating system under VMware Workstation 4.5.1 is known to be problematic unless you disable virtual dynamic shared object support with the following kernel boot parameter:

vdso=0

Ok, thanks for the help. Screw Microsoft Virtual PC 2004!
I just got the trial version of VMWare Workstation 4.5 and Fedora2 loaded right up! (didn't need the above command) Its a tad slow, but dang, it sure is nice being able to switch from windows to fedora 2 in a couple seconds!

No it's much nicer to switch from Fedora to Windows in a couple of seconds ;)
