What happened to floppy disk based booting in Fedora Core 2?

It existed in Core 1, now it gives me an error when I try to use the boot floppy option from FC1 to boot up FC2.

My PC can't boot from CD and this is harsh on legacy computer owners.....

Yes that's imho a big problem. Ok, it supports now booting from USB-Sticks, but why not floppy?

Is there a way to kludge it and make it boot on those kind of systems?

Ok, it's also not the perfect solution, but may work.
