I read somewhere linux doesn't digitally download the cd, or something like that. Check in your computer to make sure there is the soundcard hookup (the 4-wire connector)running from your cd drive to the sound card .
hope that helps,

What do you mean by read? You can't play audio cd with cdplayer, or you can't mount audio cd?

I am experiencing the same problem. It says
wrong fs type or too many mounted filesystems
It does this not for the FC2 install CD's but for CD's burned from windows (data or audio) and SOME audio CD's. Greenday Dookie will mount, but newer one's like Warning etc will not.
This did not happen with FC1, I have my money on a kernel problem

Why would you want to mount audioCD???
You can listen to audioCD with cdplayer programs... or you can rip audioCD...
why mount...

You do not mount audio cds in Linux.
What apps are you using to play the cds? What exactly is happening? Does it look like the cds are playing but you can't hear anything or is it that the audio apps don't seem to find the cd at all?
More detail needed.

Alright, here's some meat. When I insert the Green Day album "Warning":
In konqueror, clicking (once) the cdrom under the devices sidebar returns
"Error - kio_devices_mounthelper
mount: No medium found
Please check that the disk is entered correctly" (twice)
Grip doesn't seem to do anything when I click the scan disk contents button.
In Konsole:
"mount /dev/cdrom" returns
"mount: No medium found"
the relevant fstab line:
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 auto,owner,users,kudzu,ro 0 0
as set by default.
Inserting Green Day 'Insomniac'
works in Grip
Konqueror:
Error - kio_devices_mounthelper
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
Please check that the disk is entered correctly.
Konsole:
mount /dev/cdrom
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
"Dookie" has the same results as "Warning"
I have a data CD of all my pink floyd in MP3's I burned with Nero and have used for months which reads like "Dookie"
None of these CD's have a scratch on them or any other damage and the phenomena are consistently repeatable with each respective disk.
CD's which I burn in Linux do not behave this way.

Yes, you are trying to mount the audio cd in konqueror and in the console and you don't mount audio cd's in linux since there is no filesystem on your reguar audio cd's (store bought ones). Your pink floyd cd you can probably mount since it is really just a data cd with mp3's on it.
Try opening up a cd player like gnome cd player or or xmms and try to play your audio cds. You might need to change the xmms audio plugin to read the cd directly if you don't have a cable running from your cdrom to the soundcard.
