HP PSC 2175 Scanner in Gimp

I am trying to use a HP PSC 2175 with USB to scan in Gimp but the sane does not find the scanner. It prints great just have no idea on how to get it to find the scanner. Any clues or camments will be helpfull. I did install the hpijs driver from the www.linuxprinting.org but does not seem to help.

I use kooka to scan with an HP PSC 1350, works fine. Make sure to run ptal-init once to setup the hpoj stuff.
