View Full Version : Add/Remove Software: Unable to see content of Package Group in Fedora Core 10

Hi,

On Fedora Core 10, I applied all the recent update I automatically received and I assume that
the Fedora Core 10 installation is up-to-date (7-dec-2008). However, when I try to "click a group to get started" in "Add/Remove Software" I get the message "The group could not be queried" with "Running the transactions failed". In the details, the following message is given:

"Failed to get a TID: A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.PackageKit.Transacti[/I]on" member "SetLocale" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.PackageKit") (0)"[/I]

When I read the word "security" in the detailed message it prompt me to post this message in this forum.

Note that prior to implement the latest automatic update, I was able to see the content of any of the groups with the message telling the number of packages installed and the number of available packages.

Do I have to log in as a "super user" before I go in the menu "System" and click on Add/Remove Software" ? I did that but no luck.

Can any one give a hint on what to modified such that I can use "Add/Remove Software" . At the moment I cannot use it

Regards

I don't use packagekit, but do a search around the forums. There's another thread on this, (the problem is apparently not yet solved, as far as I can tell.)

I'm going to close this thread because it's covered in the other, and it's probably better to keep it in one place. The other thread is at
