I've got a problem, after updating from redhat 9 to fedora core 2. It's a big step, but everything seems to be working just fine..
One big problem though, I can't use my ATAPI plextor writer. cdrecord doesn't detect its writing abilities. It used to work very well on rh9, by passing the scsi-ide parameter to the kernel. Fedora C2 uses 2.6 kernel though, and I read that this parameter isn't necessary anymore, and that any version of cdrecord above 2.0 can use writing abilities of a drive, without wrapping it in a scsi-interface.
Here's a dump of my cdrecord scan of the drive :
scsidev: 'ATAPI:0,0,0'
devname: 'ATAPI'
scsibus: 0 target: 0 lun: 0
Warning: Using ATA Packet interface.
Warning: The related libscg interface code is in pre alpha.
Warning: There may be fatal problems.
cdrecord: Warning: controller returns wrong size for CD capabilities page.

Device seems to be: Generic CD-ROM.
[root@Router vnc-4.0-x86_linux]# rpm -q cdrecord
cdrecord-2.01-0.a27.4.FC2.1
Can anyone give me any info on how to proceed from here? I'm kinda stuck, there's not much info available on writing with atapi drives, using the 2.6 kernel.
Thanks on forehand;
pieter.
