I installed Fedora 10 a few days ago using the I386 CD install discs found on NC State's FTP server. I verified the disks and verified the downloads with sha1sum. When prompted to install discs 2-4, the CD driver would not eject the previous disc even with repeated manual pressing of the open/close button and waiting. I was able to manually eject the discs using the emergency eject hole in the cd drive and the install continued. However, I was never prompted for discs 5 and 6. Are they needed?
Wondering if this is a problem with the install software or my machine. I rebuilt an older Gateway machine 2.4 ghz intel, added 2.5 gb of ram and a new LG CD/DVD drive. Is there a way to verify that the entire OS installed correctly? I am presently using the machine. It does appear sluggish at times
This Linux/ Fedora is all very new to me. Have been frustrated by MS OS's for years and finally decided to give these a try. I'll be trying to read up on the system but in the meantime I am very much a noobie.
Thanks rmulier
