Hello forum, posting this from lynx, look great
my prob is i installed the latest nvidia drivers for the normal 2.6.6 kernel and everything worked fine, but now i'm trying to use my 2.6.6smp kernel and X won't start. its probably because i need to rebuild the driver for the smp kernel, right? but how do i do that? when i use the nvidia-installer --update it just says the latest driver is already installed. is there a way to install the driver for multiple kernels.
Thanks

Run the NVidia installer with the "-A" option and read the output. Pay special attention to the notes for the "-k" and "-K" options. I believe the one you'll probably want is the "-K" ...

I booted smt first time updated nvidia driver and it worked. But now I have updated to kernel 2.6.7... and nvidia installer say no precompiled kernel, you must compile new kernel...
How should I compile nvidia with mine new kernel?

While installation he doesn't try to build a new module for your kernel?
Did you link the path to the kernelsources?
Try to execute the installer with this extra-parameter:
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-VERSION-pkg1.run --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux-2.6.7
He should build a new module now.
