Greetings FedoraForum members,
As you can see this is my first post and would like to compliment you all on the helpful advise you regularly dispense in this forum. It is a true credit to the open source community ;) and keep up to good work.
I'm here to ask a few questions reguarding a project I need to complete. Although I'm not new to linux I am new to linux as a server, so naturally I have so issues to iron out.
I am currently working as a volunteer for a local charity which provide IT learning services to those new to computers (mainly over 50's). This charity does have a few websites, heavy mail requirments, a growing need for ftp server facilities and file sharing. Now to my questions....
The computer that was given to me has a SATA RAID controller and I wanted to use this to guarentee the archieving of emails and etc. But I got stuck when finding out how to get this working. So how do I get SATA RAID 1 (mirrioring) to work in Fedora?
My raid controller is a silicon image sil 3112 SATA PCI controller.
Also..Many of the computers used internally are the old imacs (tray loading). They are keen to have some sort of file sharing within the office. I know netatalk is good on Mandrake, but I wanted to know if there are any flavour specific file sharing tools for fedora that work with imacs?
My appologies for the long post, but I wanted to give a bit of background.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks YellowGrape
