linux i8042.nomux
press enter (installer will then work with touchpad)
once installed you'll need a USB or PS/2 mouse plugged in or if u can work wit out it fine, eg pressing ctrl + F1,
login as root
edit /etc/grub.conf by adding i8042.nomux to the boot up line
root=LABEL=/ acpi=on apm=on i8042.nomux
save and reboot (or go init 3 and then go to init 5)
(seems 2.4 Kernel was fine without this line) but new kernel 2.6 from what i read its a bug of some sort that i8042.nomux tells the kernel to bypass
