Hi Guys.

Been using Fed-64 - 9 for a while now and I am impressed so far. Also found that updates may be confusing for a lot of users. This also holds true when you add other repos with stuff such as kmods for nvidia drivers. This can break system where either the kmod comes before a new kernal,, or way after.

This will allow for a user to find and and fix problems quickly without using the software sections.

Also there could be announcements on updates similar to regular announcements.
And also this allows for support for fed users using extra repos.

Right now Im sitting on some kmod updates though the kernel version looks good I dont want to break my system like a did a few days ago lol.

Thanks for your suggestion, however we really have that already. If it's a Alpha-Beta situation, that's where it belongs, otherwise it should be placed in General Support. If we opened up a separate Forum for Yum, then we'd start having overlap problems with those two Forums.

Really, if you have a problem with yum, you can simply used the Advanced Search feature, put in "yum" and perhaps limit the search to 'A Week Ago and Newer' and select the General or Alpha-Beta Forum to see what responses you get. That should bring up everything.

We have had announcements and 'stickies' and even News items that would alert members to ongoing problems, such as the broken 96xx drivers for the kmods. That will continue, I'm sure.

Um could we have a sticky link for this as it would be possible to have sticky's in more than one section. If possible this may be usable for other sections also ut problem is there can only be so many sticky links. Just fielding an idea.

Also could use preset tags for such posts which kind of does the original suggestion but should be able to to have posts in different sections even and have it navigable by using a sticky link that loads those tags.

Now if this could possibly enhance the forum especially for newbies it would be worth while.

Also there may be relevance tags that are kind of how to like but have different options in that if a forum topic is a known solution it can be taged as such

The bottom line would be does this enhance the function of the forum ,, especially for the newer Fedora users.
