I have a problem with installing Fedora Core 2.

I have tried 3 different machines. 1st machine just restarts over and over after pressing the enter key to install in GUI mode. I then tried typing "linux text" and pressing enter for text only install, but the machine just restarts over and over again. So, I thought it was the bios corruption and trashed the machine, because it was an old "Gateway Essential 433".

So then I tried a Dell System with P2 300Mhz 128MB RAM, WD 3.4GB HD. It will show: " loading vmlinuz" and then after 20 seconds or so, It will give this error:

isolinux: Disk error 05, AX = 4280, drive 9F

I tried doing media check, memory check, text mode only, & no probe, but the same error came up over and over.

I then tried my current machine with the same Harddrive from other machine, but the Board is P4P800 Dlx, 1GB ram, Liteon CD RW drive, p4 2.8Ghz 800Mhz FSB. The linux comes up very quickly off CD rom. I press enter for GUI install. The machine then states loading vmlinuz.....................................
initrd.img..........

At this point the machine restarts over again and loads to the "boot:" prompt and then I try linux text, linux noprob, linux media check
It just restarts over and over.

I am still fairly new to linux but it seems that your installation disk might be corrupt. isolinux is a folder on the first installation cd and it seems that it might have a corrupt file on it. Also if it does it on more than one machine, id say it might be very likely your cd is bad.

I will just build or buy another machine and try to install it from there.
