Hi! I recently noticed my http server on my fedora 9 got lot of hits from some unknown IP addresses, mostly from China. Don't know who they are or what they are doing. I am just wondering, is it possible to deny access from certain range of IP addresses in firewall configuration? Or, the other way around, only allow access from certain range of IPs? Thanks!

Use iptables. You should find a lot of manuals on the internet how configuration it

what they are doing
They're trying to hack the PC, to hijack it, to send out spam emails. Probably. China, Taiwan, Korea, Russia, etc. I see loads of hack attempts.
