I installed FC10 today and went to update and got Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) and failes update any answers to this would help grately

You can try
yum clean all
yum clean metadata

Then try again. (I'm not sure the second line is necessary but it won't hurt anything).
That sometimes, though not always, fixes the problem

Same problem here.

I've been using Fedora 10 since the first snapshot (after the beta). It seems that the version is "9.92" and since 30 October worked well. But know, when I try to update, yum says to me:

[root@localhost pau]# yum update
Connectors carregats: refresh-packagekit
http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/9.92/Everything/x86_64/os/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404: NOT FOUND
S'estą intentant un altre servidor rčplica.
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again
